Drain Tile Systems

Maintaining a healthy parking lot often means making sure the area is free of water above and below the surface. One way a facility manager could prevent and prepare for future damages is to install a system of drain tile.

Installing drain tile throughout a parking or landscape area is a great way to remove water from an existing base. Unlike storm sewers, drain tile is designed to absorb and move water that’s below the surface. However, there are also applications in which it is only used to direct water from gutters and other areas to catch basins and storm sewers.

Many times parking lots are constructed with drain tile systems already in place beneath them. However, these systems can get clogged and wear away like anything else when overworked, so it’s important to make sure you keep up with the water flow on your parking lot to prevent future damage.
